INSIDE
“Through the haze of conceptual capture the boundaries of physical independence are blurred. Socially exiled, rehabilitation occurs in small withdrawn rooms festering with external and internal punishment. The embodiment of crime from the dog bed of Maslow’s decapitated pyramid. Rehabilitated to a society that jointly resonates with the memories of all its members – scapegoats and poster-boys of the penal colony. Detainment as a safety haven where the mentality of institutionalisation creeps to the back comers of the psyche, nuzzled and concealed by layers of trauma and rationalisation – making covert decisions and influencing identity. Repetitive movements towards freedom. The experience builds a cage locked between the eyes.” — BH
