Escape Exercise

Rebecca Ross’ ESCAPE EXERCISE bathes in sunlight and water, but there is also something darker hinted at as the image dips and slips beneath the waterline. The ankle monitor’s point of view reveals the clouds of grit swirling swirling with each footstep, like the crashing waters off Christmas Island, like the sand extracted from North Stradbroke Island, but also glimpses of the pristine beach and glistening Surfers skyline, like the final fantasy montage sequence before the dying man dreams he is drowning.
