Angledozer

“In its fragmenting, elusive and undecipherable feeling it is a kind of filmic template for traumatic memory itself. This film is like an answer to an unknown accusation to which “the whole of one’s life would have to be passed in review, down to the smallest actions and accidents, clearly formulated and examined from every angle.” This dirt bag of a film is partially constructed from found educational and industrial films that were rescued/hijacked by the film maker on the way to being turned into landfill at a local dump. The title is the actual title of one of these industrial films about a particular make of bulldozer. It is as though the image is being excavated, layered and scraped much more relentlessly and severely and with a much more pervasive and blunt instrument than Bunuel and Dali’s razor blade on the eye. A whole body is being scraped apart and together here, and our post modern bodies field its numbing.” – Dirk de Bruyn
